You asked for comments on ancient appliances on page 59. I have a 1954 Frigidaire Flair Custom Imperial electric stove with the oven above 4 burners in a pull out drawer. The oven is at eye level and the door lifts up. All controls are across the top of the oven. the burners are completely covered when not in use, or can be opened to only expose the front two burners. The unit still operates perfectly and is used daily. The whole unit is stainless steel, inside and out and has been a real jewel to maintain and still looks new.
