Do not purchase this vacuum. Mine stopped working after 8 months worth of use and I have to ship it back to the company to get it fixed and I will be without a vacuum for 3-4 weeks. If I just want to order a replacement belt I again have to wait 3-4 weeks to have it sent. I should have done my homework prior to purchasing it and now that I've read the reviews of it on Target.com I can see the pattern emerging of its frequent breakdowns and poor performance history. I recommend that people read all the poor reviews of the this product that are all over the internet before wasting $200 of thier money and then throwing more good money after bad in order to keep your initial investment going. This product is poorly designed and should be taken off the market!

I too would love to see some reviews on the steam floor cleaners, it'd be nice to see some opinions of them other than from the manufacturer

Don't get this one,the "silent, ultra super Shark turbo hand vacuum",unless you can do all your vacuuming in five minutes,
because that's all you get before it cuts off.(On it's own!).
It also tends to create a lot of heat, which probably explains why it cuts off. After about ten minutes or so,you might be able
to continue. As for the performance, well there is none.I mean no
suction at all. Maybe enough to sip coffee. SAVE 'YO MONEY!DON'T
BUY IT!

We have tried many floor steamers and all have left something to be desired. That is until we found a HAAN floor steam cleaner. IT IS AWESOME!!!! It is light, I can clean my entire house on one fill (I mop fast) and it actually works. This is the first time I have ever posted any type of product recommendation, but I felt I had to share my experience with this superior product.

We are also wanting information on the portable steam floor cleaners!!!
We want to see what CR has as recommendations.

I have purchased the Shark Steam Mop after looking at a lot of different ones. I love it. It was hard to push the mop at first because of all the grim and chemicals on my floor (but I was expecting this as I read a lot of other comments and they found the same issue.) But now the mop glides very nice. If I have a tough spot I leave the mop on the floor for a few seconds and it gets rid of the mess. My floors have never been so clean and they never have that sticky feeling. Its amazing how dirty that cloth gets, even after I thought my floor was clean.
The downside, it does feel flimsy. I guess that is because of the light weight feature. I also usually have to fill up the canister once to clean my kitchen and dinning room, but it heats up fast so its not that big of deal. I also wish it had a better swivel head to get into tough areas.
But the downfalls are that that great, and for the price and the way my floors look and feel it is definety worth it!!! :-)

Does anyone have any suggestions for a hand held or portable steamer. I don't want to spend much more that $100 and there are so many out there!!! Help please!

I bought and returned the Shark steam mop. It left streaks on my linoleum. My tiled area didn't have any, but it's a tiny area and the tile is dark. I love the concept and just subscribed to CR now to look at reviews. What a bummer that they're not here!
