Got 2 units from Amazon, and both broke in the same way while making smoothies from frozen fruit, juice and yogurt:
The plastic disk on the base unit that tops the drive shaft (and engages with the blade mechanism in the pitcher)came loose, so that the motor would run, but the blade wouldn't turn. The 1st unit broke after 1 month, and Amazon replaced it. The 2nd one broke 2 months later, beyond their return period.
I've just gotten an Osterizer, which has an all-metal linkage between base and blade, so I'm more hopeful.
