Product preview: One range, two ovens
Cook over a typical single-oven stove, and you often wind up juggling multiple cooking times and temperatures. More 30-inch freestanding ranges now offer two ovens so you can cook two dishes at two different temperatures at the same time. GE’s Profile Double Oven Free-Standing Range is the latest such stove and offers several new features. The upper oven includes a pizza setting—a nod to the preprogrammed settings on most microwaves—and, at 2.1 cubic feet, is larger than most such ovens, according to GE. (While we haven’t measured this one yet for ourselves, we often find usable oven space far less than the claimed space manufacturers list in their specs.) The main oven features a slow-cook mode with four settings. Both ovens are self-cleaning with interchangeable racks. Available in May 2007, the nonconvection PB970 comes in black ($1,499), white ($1,549), and stainless steel ($1,749). The PB975, which offers convection, comes in black ($1,699), white ($1,749), and stainless steel ($1,949).

I purchased this oven 2 months ago and I love it. I used the cooktop cleaner everyday for the first two weeks and now only when I spill on it. It is very easy to clean.
The interior of the ovens retain the heat long after the oven is shut off, however my kitchen stays cool. The convection oven cooks very fast and I can cook up to 4 trays of cookies in about 15 minuets by moveing the rack from the top oven to the bottom oven.
I love this oven. It was worth the price I paid, and I am glad that I didn't settle for something else.
