DTV-reminder commercials generate 55,000 inquiry calls

The DTV soft test run last Thursday by the National Association of Broadcasters as a “wake up call” to digital-unready consumers prompted 55,000 calls, the agency reported.  The majority of the calls were placed in Chicago and New York and mainly concerned the government coupon program and various technical and setup problems.

This downloadable Excel file lists caller questions and breaks down the calls by regional market.

If you or someone you know is among the confused, check out our Guide to Digital TV. And hurry up—there are only 17 days left till analog broadcasts cease.
