Pricing: 2009 Mazda6 sedan
Pricing for the redesigned 2009 Mazda6 sports sedan will start at $18,550 for the Mazda6 i SV equipped with a 170-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and six-speed manual transmission. The Mazda6 s, with a 273-horsepower V6 engine and six-speed automatic, will begin at $24,130. Destination charges will be an additional $670.
All Mazda6 models will have standard anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic stability control, traction control, and front side- and curtain-air bags (covering both rows).
The previous-generation Mazda6 was competitive among family sedans, but not as powerful or refined as the Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. We’ll see if this redesigned version can zoom up in our Ratings when we test it in the coming months.
The 2009 MAZDA6 will arrive at dealerships in late August.

It looks like the V-6 engine isn't available with a manual transmission. None of the Japanese car manufacturers offers a V-6 manual transmission in this class. Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima/Maxima, Mazda6 are all auto in V6 trim. It's a shame. If someone does, I expect it to make money.

Actually David... That's exactly the problem... Sedans with a V6 and manual transmission are not "money makers". They experience very low demand (except for a few folks like you and me).
Since they sit on car lots for a long time, dealers don't usually care for them and they have historically not been very profitable.

I remember the 1997 and 1998 Toyota Camry was available with a V6 stick (the CE V6)... Strangely equipped vehicle... probably the sportiest '97-'01 Camry, and it was only available with roll-up windows!
The thing drove amazingly though... I miss those oddball cars these days, namely the great sleeper cars of the past fifteen years or so (Taurus SHO up to 1995, Spirit R/T Turbo, etc)

Are cars with roll up windows still sold in this country? The last car I drove with roll up windows was a Toyota Celina, one with pop up headlights. There was nothing wrong will roll up windows. Unfortunately, "luxury" items of yesterday are now "necessities". Even my first generation Mazda Miata came with powered windows, as I wanted ABS.
To me, I wish Mazda would off a Miata with:
- no powered windows and steering
- no cruise control, cup holders (current Miata equipped with 4 cup holders, one of which hits the driver's left leg)
but...I would like a
- a powerful 225 hp or up engine in rotary form
- ESC standard equipment

I need to find a target price for the 2009 Mazda I Touring Sedan 5 spd auto. I see MSRS $21,705. There are a lot of good sites that have 2008 price targets, but I have not found 2009 yet.
I was also told that getting a manual instead of a automatic will not be available for 3 months.
