Packing for CES: Batteries of batteries

Throwing some clothes together for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) was easy; it was packing my own electronic devices that took some quality time and careful thought.

Cell phone and charger? Check. Laptop and power cord? Check. Portable nav system, power cord for same, and EZ pass for drive to airport? Got ‘em. Digital camera, spare batteries, and cord to transfer photos to laptop for e-mailing to the folks back home in Yonkers, check. An all-important iPod, along with associated accessories for a long flight and five days in Vegas, double check.

And for good measure, a borrowed digital pedometer so I can torture myself with just how far I’ve walked after four days of prowling the 1.7 million square feet of CES.

By the time I was done packing, my electronics weighed almost as much as my clothes. At least I still had room for some clothes. In hindsight, I am glad to have all my so-called toys with me as my flight was delayed a couple hours.

Look for coverage to be posted over the next few days, and an update on the distance covered, as I walk the beat at CES.
