Gas prices are killing me and my family. I drive an old pickup truck and cannot afford to get a new one. My wife is disabled and cannot work. There have been days recently when I have had to choose between spending money on gas to get to work or eating. I work hard and have worked steadily. I am in a helping profession and now I need help. The solution seems simple yet no one has mentioned it. Nationalize the oil industry. Thank you.

I have talked to a couple of attorney's and the common thing that they said is a couple of years ago, Congress passed a law "allowing monopolies", where for years there was a law against it. So that being said, what needs to happen is this. 'We the People' need to petition Congress to 'repeal' the law that allows monopolies. There by, OPEC would have to disband allowing true 'competition' instead of 'cooperation' among the oil companies.
Also, 'We the People' need to start a "Class Action Suit against all oil companies, because; 'We the People' contest that all oil companies are 'Price Gouging'. How else can they explain their admitted ‘Exorbitant’ profits? (i.e.: Posted IRS Tax Returns of $65 Billion in Profit for the first quarter, that’s just Exxon/Mobil)
'We the People' also contest that the U.S. government has allowed this ‘blatant abuse’ of their people, by the oil companies, by not controlling the price of the gas, especially after the natural disasters that we have experienced, and this never ending war on terrorism. There hoping that with all of the 'distractions' that 'We the People' will just be to busy trying to figure it out that nothing will happen.
"We the People' need to 'Stop' for a minute. Think about this if 'We the People' do not do something then what about our children, grandchildren what will they see they will see a generation that does nothing and they will be subject to the same abusive government that we are. We all learn by example. What happened the last time 'WE THE PEOPLE' were fed up with the way the 'GOVERNMENT' was treating them or allowing them to be treated.
I will ask this; If you feel the same way, PLEASE blog this every where. ‘WE THE PEOPLE' need to unite.

Until the American public rises up in rebellion and boycots one particular oil company, we will always be victime of the greedy oil companies. If we pick one one oil company and just do not buy their gas, they would son drop their prices. With tankers sitting off shore loaded with fuel and no place to unload the oil companies would soon bring thier prices down.
I am not an agitator, but somebody has to get the ball rolling. As a well quoted line from a movie: "I'm tired and I'm not taking it any more." Can we start something to help ourselves?

I visited my sister near Akron in Medina, Ohio last week. On Tuesday May 22 regular gasoline rose 30 cents in three hours at every one of the gas stations on a main highway! It went from $3.20 to 3.50 per gallon!! The following day headlines in the paper told of the bill in Congress which makes price gouging a felony. For some reason all these stations reduced their rates back to $3.30 - again all on the same day! Don't tell me there isn't some price fixing going on! These greedy dipsticks deserve a few months in jail on felony charges - for sure.
