Lighter-than-air press conferences

Blog_chevyball It takes, well, courage to give a bunch of journalists something to throw just before a press conference. But General Motors passed out foam balls just before showing their Groove, Beat, and Trax microcar concepts at their first news conference of the New York auto show. It turns out the three balls, one in the same color as each of the concepts, were intended for people to toss at the stage to vote for their favorite at the end of the presentation. Considering that GM’s press conference was rich with dancing entertainers, lights, and music, the substance was as light as the foam balls.

Now, at least, we have a stress ball to use if we run into another info-thin conference.
