Dear VW, don’t do number 2

I learned today that Volkswagen is now calling the Touareg the "Touareg 2." Bad idea.

Volkswagen_touareg2_f_2 You’d think that marketing people would finally figure out that when you plug the number 2 or the roman numeral “II” behind a name, no good can come of it. (This rule has a few notable exceptions of The Godfather II and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, but these were flukes.)

Audrey II, bad! Mustang II, bad! Caddyshack II, bad!

And, Touareg 2? This isn’t even a proper sequel. The welcomed changes are so minor, 1.1 would have been more fitting.
